The proposed Behavioral Health Center will develop a comprehensive behavioral health continuum of care focused on providing Michigan patients with the right treatment, at the right time, in the appropriate setting. The program serves as a step-down option for inpatient care and EmPATH DeescalationUnit, and a step-up program from standard outpatient therapy. Funding for the Behavioral Health Workforce Development project will support six weeks of comprehensive behavioral health training for 28 staff members including a focus on the role of the community mental health agency, referrals and warm hand-offs to local providers after hospitalization, and education on the use of teletherapy.
