Through this project, Easter Seals Michigan staff completed training in Brief Strategic Family Therapy (BSFT) for healing and strengthening Michigan youth and families in Flint, Grand Rapids, and Center Line. BSFT is a short-term therapeutic intervention that seeks to improve a youth’s behavior by improving family interactions. Easter Seals Michigan continues to take referrals for BSFT, and following this grant, was awarded a contract from another organization to provide BSFT to youth in juvenile detention to assist with reducing recidivism.
