The Grand Rapids African American Health Institute’s 2020 Community Outreach Survey and Health Equity Index ranked mental health as one of the top priorities for the African American communities in Kent County. The Youth Wellness and Mental Health Program will increase physical activity, improve healthy eating, and focus on positive behavioral development and coping skills, creating a mentally and physically stronger community.
