UMRC will pilot the Positive Approach™ initiative at the Chelsea Retirement Community Towsley Village Memory Care Center to improve the quality of life for residents living with dementia and empower caregivers and families. The program will focus on intervention, preemptive care, and caregiver education in efforts to reduce hospitalizations due to behavioral distress. Towsley Village will hire a Dementia Care Specialist to train staff members, UMRC residents, family members, care providers, and community members.
