This project addresses the chronic underfunding of Michigan’s Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program, aiming to demonstrate that adequate resourcing improves care quality, prevents abuse and neglect, and enhances the quality of life for residents in long-term care facilities. By implementing national best practices and creating a secure online referral form, the project seeks to streamline ombudsman services and engage community leaders in decision-making, ultimately driving statewide systems change to secure increased funding and an updated funding formula for the program.
