Past Grants

The Dickinson Area Community Foundation partnered with agencies to support programs designed to tackle obesity, diabetes, and/or physical activity issues in Dickinson County. Programs included:1. Community Garden Project:  provided community gardening educational classes and healthy eating options for local youth2. Enhancement and promotion of alternative healthier modes of transportation in the community for local residents3. Organ Wise Guys:  implemented an existing educational program to increase nutrition, physical activity, and other healthy behaviors for kindergarten-aged children4. Small Steps, Big Rewards: provided community screenings to identify persons at-risk for diabetes and provide educational and motivational support to decrease their weight/risk for diabetes5. Healthy Kids Club: integrated local professionals to educate children in Dickinson County on the importance of exercise and healthy eating6. Community Swim Lessons: provided community swim lessons for third graders in Dickinson County
