Past Grants

The Great Start Trauma Informed Community Workgroup of Barry County (TICB) is a collaboration of more than 40 committed community organizations all seeking to live and work within a trauma-informed community. This collaborative project will accomplish three main goals: educate the community (including practicing therapists and other healthcare practitioners, law enforcement, community service agencies, and faith-based organizations) about Adverse Childhood Experiences through six educational sessions, promote trauma screening by providers by training 70 percent of identified practitioners on the use of an evidence-based assessment tool, and collect and analyze community data around trauma. Collaborative partners have pledged to support the goals of the project long-term, with dedicated staff participation and financial support.
