Through this grant, the Michigan Center for Clinical Systems Improvement will conduct eight in-depth trainings for primary care teams throughout the state to apply evidence-based care models of Substance-use screening, Brief Intervention, and Treatment (SBIRT), and/or Collaborative Care (CoCare) when treating patients with chronic pain. This training is based on a program previously developed by Mi-CCSI, the University of Michigan Chronic Pain and Fatigue Research Center, and local content experts and providers. It addresses assessments and appropriate prescribing and management of opioids, along with tools reflecting evidence-based guidelines and assessment.
