Produce prescription programs (PPRs) have shown to improve health behaviors and outcomes for low-income individuals at risk for chronic disease. Management of these programs is often labor intensive, requiring staff to oversee a surplus of duties (e.g., client enrollment, health education, program evaluation, etc.), including client spending and vendor reimbursements. Oakland University (OU) will build a technology platform to streamline program management that will improve the cost-effectiveness of PPRs, provide better evaluation data across programs, and improve program sustainability. This project will also develop a technology platform to improve user experience for participants, business processes for program managers (e.g., data entry, reporting), evaluation data, and the cost-effectiveness of produce prescription programs (PPRs) throughout the state.
