This project aims to reduce racial disparities in access to behavioral health services for African Americans by utilizing a targeted community-based navigator to connect individuals to care, deploy a communications campaign to reduce anti-behavioral health treatment stigma, and convene stakeholders to work toward broad systems transformation. The project stems from a one-year discovery and planning grant focused data that highlights a disparity in access to follow-up care after an emergency visit for mental health or substance use disorder concerns.
