expand access to lactation support and improve breastfeeding outcomes across Michigan, the Lactation Consultant Program expansion will enhance Henry Ford College Foundation’s existing training through virtual education and local mentoring. This initiative will expand access to culturally congruent lactation care by providing online courses, hands-on clinical rotations with local mentors, and a specialized Breastfeeding Masterclass for Doulas, aimed at increasing the number of qualified lactation consultants and addressing workforce gaps in areas with high population density.
