This two-year pilot project will demonstrate integration of health and wellness into the school improvement planning process in 24 elementary and middle schools across the state. The selected schools will receive training in the Whole School, Whole Community, Whole Child Model; complete the Healthy School Action Tool Assessment for Healthy Eating; develop a health and wellness goal and action plan based on the needs assessment; and implement the Nutrition and Physical Activity Unit of the Michigan Model for Health curriculum.
