To address critical issues exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic, the Family Wellness Promotion project will directly target family systems in Berrien County, focusing on strengthening support networks and promoting maternal and infant health. Through initiatives like safe sleep practices and mental health first aid training, Berrien County Health Department aims to mitigate risks associated with infant mortality and adverse birth outcomes, particularly in high-risk areas like Benton Harbor, thereby improving community health outcomes.
