To address the significant risk of maternal mortality and associated with substance use disorders during pregnancy, the Family Medicine Department at Henry Ford Health proposes the first integrated prenatal clinic in the Detroit metro area. This holistic approach aims to provide comprehensive care to pregnant individuals with substance use disorders and their families, leveraging addiction medicine and obstetric care clinicians, training providers, and managing policies and procedures to improve patient outcomes and reduce stigma, potentially serving as a model for healthcare facilities statewide.
