Past Grants

In response to the community’s growing need, the Alpena Area Senior Citizens Council is launching DREAM (Dementia, Resources, Educate, Advocacy, Mentorship) to create a dementia-friendly county. DREAM offers specialized training for project partners, such as local law enforcement, EMS/paramedics, and fire services, enhancing their ability to interact positively with those affected by dementia. Additionally, the project will develop a safe return program for Alpena County in partnership with Miles for Memories, providing Personalized ID Bracelets and a tailored program. DREAM will establish memory cafes offering meaningful engagement opportunities and social support for persons living with dementia and their caregivers.
