Past Grants

The goal of the Desde el primer momento (“From the First Moment”) project is to reduce the infant mortality rate among Hispanic families in Michigan’s Lenawee County by implementing a Promotor(a) de Salud/Community Health Worker-led perinatal education and home visiting program. A trained, bilingual Promotora will provide outreach, education, and home visits to the target community and will improve the knowledge of those served on how to have a healthy pregnancy and birth and to care for a newborn baby.
