To address food insecurity and improve health outcomes for Medicaid beneficiaries in Michigan, the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) will support Medicaid Health Plans in offering nutrition-related services as part of their coverage. By enhancing the capacity of community-based food providers through targeted funding and technical assistance, this initiative aims to equip nutrition providers with the necessary tools and training to effectively serve an expanded population, ultimately reducing healthcare costs associated with food insecurity.
