Starr Commonwealth is collaborating with five Calhoun County school districts, the county public mental health provider, and the Battle Creek Family YMCA to implement a county-wide, school-based behavioral health program that meets the needs of students struggling in the traditional school setting. The Student Resilience and Empowerment Center program is a school-initiated, referral-based program that enrolls participants for a minimum of eight-weeks in half day schedules to provide behavior interventions that focuses on individualized care plans of Social and Emotional Learning, mind-body skills/activities, executive functioning skill development, academic support, peer-to-peer support, and child and family therapeutic services.
