To address severe dental workforce shortages in Northern Michigan, this project will help the college prepare internal systems and staff to meet accreditation standards for a new dental hygiene program. By strengthening evaluation tools, attending national accreditation training, and completing required documentation, the college will be ready to admit its first students and launch a community clinic that expands preventive care access for over 8,000 residents.
