To address the significant impact of social determinants of health (SDOHs) on maternal health outcomes, this project will implement a Community Health Doula program, consisting of doulas training community health workers (CHWs) as doulas to provide support for both pregnancy and social needs. The community health doulas will directly serve approximately 120 birthing people presenting for prenatal care at the Hurley OB/GYN Clinic, specifically low-income and Medicaid-elgibile patients.
