Past Grants

To address high maternal mortality rates among Black mothers, this project will develop and pilot the Patient Advocate app to amplify patient concerns, improve patient-provider communication, and enhance the exchange of vital health information. By connecting patients with advocates, integrating processes into Henry Ford Health’s care workflows, and gathering community feedback, the app aims to reduce disparities in care, combat the dismissal of concerns, and enhance maternal health outcomes in Metro Detroit and Flint, Michigan.
