Past Grants

The Community Foundation for Muskegon County (CFMC) and three affiliate community foundations in Oceana (CFOC), Mason (CFMA), and Manistee (MCCF) established a program to impact and increase health eating and health food access and improve healthy behaviors and outcomes, especially for children and seniors in poverty. As a collective, 28 sub-grantees worked toward five outcomes: 1)  increasing access to healthy food; 2) demonstrating evidence that disadvantaged residents are increasing purchasing or choosing, preparing, and consuming healthy food; 3) demonstrated evidence of community-based food systems change; 4) stimulating economic growth and sustainability around community-based food systems; and 5) providing nutritional training and education.
