To improve year-round access to fresh produce in Southwest Michigan, this project will plan a farm stop, a retail market where local farmers sell products in one shared, staffed space, at the Benton Harbor Fruit Market to serve residents in Berrien, Cass, and Van Buren counties. Community members and farmers will help shape the market’s design, operations, and offerings through listening sessions, focus groups, and advisory boards to ensure it meets the needs of those most affected by food insecurity.
