Ele’s Place is seeking support to embed Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) principles within the organization to become a more inclusive space for children and families of color when grieving the loss of a loved one. Over the past two years, the number of children that have experienced the death of a loved one has increased, and this number is even higher for Black children. However, the demographics of the clients served by Ele’s Place does not reflect this reality. By engaging with an external facilitator and consultant, Ele’s Place will complete an organizational capacity readiness assessment, which will include data collection and analysis based on participant demographics and perceptions of their current practices. They will also engage in a dialog-based session to help the staff better understand root causes of health inequity.
