This work builds upon a previous award from the Health Fund (Developing Health Education Lessons for Tribal Home Visiting, DHEL-THV; Community Health Impact, 2020) to promote traditional food and cultural practices that support the Indigenous community. N-MICCHE will prioritize Indigenous food sovereignty through the promotion of cultural foods, incorporation of traditional food knowledge, including the wisdom that food is medicine, and the value of community ownership. N-MICCHE develops culturally appropriate lessons, educational materials, and activities that will impact Indigenous children and families through Michigan’s Tribal Home Visiting and Head Start programs.
