Jefferson East, Inc. (JEI), in partnership with Wayne State University’s Center for Urban Studies (WSU-CUS), will engage community members of Detroit to become empowered to identify and prevent simple household hazards that can dramatically impact an individual’s health outcomes through home improvements. The project will reach populations most disproportionately impacted by environmental health disparities; the majority being African-Americans living in low or moderate income households, including a large number of Detroiters.
