Past Grants

This project will bring a new person-centered approach for serving older adults with cognitive impairments to Michigan, the first of its kind in the state. The Montessori for Aging and Dementia program, first implemented in Australia, focuses on the abilities, needs, interests, and strengths of persons with dementia. This approach creates worthwhile and meaningful roles, routines, and activities for the person within a supportive physical environment.
